Eminem new album Revival was prematurely leaked online on Wednesday and Twitter has mixed reactions.
The album is due for release on Friday, but somehow it abruptly popped up online yesterday and thousands of fans have already gotten their hands on it. Album leaks are not uncommon these days due to the rapid rise in online music streaming, but it was a huge surprise when Revival surfaced online, Twitter immediately went into a frenzy. The album features 19 tracks and it appears that all 19 of them were leaked.
The project features guest appearances from Beyonce, Alicia Keys, Ed Sheeran, Skylars Grey, Kehlani, Pink, and up-and-coming rapper Phresher. Eminem has not reacted to the album leak but his fans are and its a mix bag of everything which means this is certainly not his best work. Prior to the release of the comeback project, Em did an interview where he spoke about his struggles to constantly want to top his previous work. Depending on your assessment of this new body of work, you are still in good company.
Some fans were brutal with their comments while others expressed their disappointment but still said they will remain a fan. “Eminem in 2017 is the equivalent of Kobe Bryant in his final season. You tune in out of respect and stomach the trash performance because this person’s gift once played a big part in your life,” one fan wrote while another added, “Eminem in 2017 is the equivalent of Kobe Bryant in his final season. You tune in out of respect and stomach the trash performance because this person’s gift once played a big part in your life.”
One of the most talked about singles on the album is “Offended” which seems to be an early fan favorite.
Dear Em, I'm not mad. I'm just disappointed. #Revival
